The SmallHD FOCUS series of monitors include a DC power output that can be used to power your DSLR or mirrorless camera. We make faux batteries that connect to a number of popular cameras, but not every camera is supported. If you want to make a custom connector to a faux battery for your camera or other usage, here are the specs you need:
The barrel connection has a nominal 3.5mm outer diameter and 1.1mm inner diameter. The center connection is positive. The power output is nominally 7.2 volts and 1.5 amps (although the voltage may be slightly higher when the monitor's battery is fully charged).
Please note that this power output may be insufficient for some cameras such as the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, or may only work with some features turned off on the camera to reduce the power draw. A thermally activated component acts as a fuse to protect the monitor from too much current being drawn. If this activates the power output will stop until the component cools back down, which typically takes about 30 minutes at room temperature.
The USB connection on the monitor is not suitable for powering devices as it only outputs 0.5 amps.
