All Monitors 500+ – SmallHD – Tech Doc– Frame Delay Calculation
PROBLEM:
How to compute the line time of one our modern (500 series and later) monitors:
SOLUTION : (1/Frames per second) + 11/(Frames per second x Total vertical lines per frame) = delay time in seconds. For a 1080p60 source, the delay is (1/60) + 11/(60*1125) = 16.8 ms. For a 720p24 source the delay is (1/24) + 11/(24*750) = 42.3 ms.
The major delay we usually see is typically the delay from the camera’s sensor to its output. (since ours is so comparatively small.)
Keywords: frame, delay, milliseconds
