A7S, A7R, a7siii, a7sii – Sony – Instructional - Getting Display Metadata on the monitor
PROBLEM
I use a Sony A7iii. Will the monitor display Sony's focus points? For example eye auto focus, face, zone, etc? How about Sony's on screen menu displays?
SOLUTION
In the menus, under HDMI settings, there is an option called HDMI Info Display.
Engaging this will disable the LCD on the camera and transfer that to the monitor, it will be the same. You will notice that is now not a 16:9 image and is the 4:3 of the LCD.
By adjusting your display settings, you can show or hide any meta data or display items as you would without the monitor on the camera's LCD.
With HDMI Info Display turned off, you will see the raw image coming through the lens.
