PROBLEM:
How do I calibrate my monitor?
What are software settings I need to use to calibrate my monitor?
SOLUTION:
You can use any probe that will handle the NIT level of your panel.
You will need an intermediary, like a computer or calibration station and software.
For NON OLED panels:
Warm Up Monitor for 60 minutes before calibration
Calman set to Full Range levels
Pattern Generator set to Full Range output
Backlight 100%
Calman Targets BT.709 Gamma Power 2.4
3D LUT format: 17pt .3DL
LUT Creation method: Fixed Grid 9^3 or Fixed Grid 17^3
We have some SOPs for our repair centers you are welcome to use:
All the monitors are "LCD White LED" however, you can sometimes get more preferred results using RGB LED depending on the monitor and your probe type.
P3 monitors should use P3 White Point and 2.6 power gamma.
All others can be Rec709 with D65 white point & 2.4 gamma.
