DP7 – SmallHD – Troubleshooting – Signal Input NTSC PAL Change
PROBLEM
I know the DP7 Pro is a legacy product but I have a question regarding its NTSC/Pal support. Does it natively support Pal format? This seems weird but I tried to connect it to my S1H with Pal selected, it won't display anything on the screen. However, switching to Cinema or NTSC mode brings the image to the monitor without any issues.
I've also tried it on a Sony A7III with Pal selected. The monitor has the image but it's all green. No way to fix it unless I switch to NTSC to get proper image.
Does this mean the DP7 Pro doesn't support Pal?
SOLUTION
The DP7 will take a signal 1920x1080 30p or less signal in most cases on SDI. It had hardware limitations on SDI, but should handle 1920x108060p or less on HDMI. Below are the supported Signals for HDMI:
