Sidefinder 501 502 – SmallHD – Troubleshooting – Brightness change with sidefinder enable disable

PROBLEM

With the Sidefinder attached to my 501, the backlight is limited to 20%. Why is that and how can I make it brighter? I’m having trouble seeing when using in sunlight. 

Can I turn off the auto Dim effect?  How do I disable the Brightness control?

SOLUTION

This is, unfortunately, something that is fixed into the units for legal reasons (amount of brightness of panel within the distance of someone's eye.  So you can not Disable or control it.  You will be able to get your max brightness available if you set the Backlight to 100 before putting it into the sidefinder.
