ALEXA – ARRI – Troubleshooting – Jittery wiggly image when zoomed in on SmallHD
PROBLEM
You can see the jittery-ness more when you zoom into the display, and if you look at the display data (ie. STBY, ISO, MON) lettering, you can see it bouncing and it becomes distracting trying to pinch and zoom and focusing. Camera is set to 1920x1080 23.976. Arri Alexa. FOCUS OLED SDI
SOLUTION
This is a refresh rate function that happens when the camera is in PSF mode. PSF is interpreted as an Interlaced signal, so you will see part of the frame in that manner and it will appear to have a slight movement as the field/ frame refreshes. The Panels are in a Fixed 60hz rate.
You can solve this by putting output of the signal t Progressive (p) and it should stop making that movement.
